Udaipur is one of the best cities to visit in India’s Rajasthan region. Full of history and rich with beautiful landscapes and ornate palaces, Udaipur is a beautiful city and well worth a visit.

The top sightseeing in Udaipur includes the City Palace, the Monsoon Palace, the Lake Palace (book a meal if you’re not staying there, as that’s the only way to get in), the Jagdish Temple, a boat ride around Lake Pichola, and the Udaipur rose gardens and zoo.

Udaipur is easy to get to from Delhi and Jaipur by train, and is also an easy domestic flight from either city.

Udaipur has a wide variety of hotels that range from the luxury hotel of the Lake Palace Hotel to mid-range accommodations like the Mewar Haveli and Tiger Hotel.

Udaipur has a variety of restaurants to choose from and many hotels have roof terraces where you can eat and enjoy the views over Lake Pichola. Many westerners enjoy breakfast or a pastry at the popular Cafe Edelweiss as well.
