Trains from Jaipur to Udaipur


Udaipur

The Jai Mahal Palace Hotel is one of the best hotels in Jaipur.

Run by the Taj Hotels group, the Jai Mahal Palace is five-star quality right in the heart of Jaipur. Situated on lush grounds set back from a busy road near the Jaipur train station, the Jai Mahal Palace is an oasis of calm and relaxation in the midst of Jaipur’s bustling chaos.

The Jai Mahal Palace offers luxury rooms with all the amenities, two restaurants (one buffet style that serves up breakfast and Continental food, and one, Cinnamon, that serves up Indian dishes a la carte), a chic bar, a swimming pool, event space and conference rooms, and beautiful gardens. There is even a life-size chess set for chess enthusiasts.

The staff at the Jai Mahal Palace are friendly and welcoming, but beware that they may not quote you competitive prices on cars, taxis, and the like. As usual in India, negotiate, negotiate, negotiate.

Also note that small water bottles at the Jai Mahal Palace are complimentary but larger ones cost Rs. 124. It’s worth it to stock up on the little ones if you’ll be drinking lots of water during your stay.
