Trains from Delhi to Agra, India depart regularly throughout the day from Delhi’s main train station and arrive at Agra Cantt train station.
Train tickets from Delhi to Agra vary based on what class you travel.
A First Class A/C ticket costs around Rs. 1,466.
The best train to take from Delhi to Agra is the early morning Shatabdi Express train at 6:15am (no service on Fridays).
It takes only 2 hours as opposed the 3 or 4 hours that some of the later trains take.
Other trains from Delhi to Agra include, but are not limited to the following.

NB: There is a government run pre-paid taxi stand (er, shack) outside of the Agra Cantt train station. The cost is Rs. 150 with a Rs. 5 surcharge. Don’t go with any other taxi drivers.

The Trident Hotel in Agra, India is high quality and offers great value for money in Agra. Situated a short drive from the Taj Mahal, the Red Fort, and several of Agra’s other landmarks, the Trident Hotel is a great place to stay on your journey through India.
The Trident Hotel offers friendly and accommodating service, clean rooms, a good restaurant, and a large swimming pool with a sunbathing area.
The Trident Hotel also offers Avis car rental and a driver to take guests around Agra and the surrounding area. That said, rates for private drivers are less expensive elsewhere, so shop around before you commit.
Rooms at the Trident Hotel in Agra are clean and simple. Some of the furniture is a bit worse for the wear, but overall the rooms are of good quality.
The restaurant at the Trident Hotel offers both buffet and a la carte service. The food is good and moderately priced. For those that only want a light meal from the buffet, the Trident offers a special “healthy meal” rate that is significantly lower than the regular buffet price.

Two Week Itinerary for India:
Cities Visited: Delhi, Agra (Taj Mahal), Jaipur, Ranthambore National Park, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer
For the first week of your trip, follow the Golden Triangle Itinerary.
For the second week, start from Jaipur on your seventh day (or sixth night if you take an overnight train) and go to Udaipur. One of the most beautiful cities in Rajasthan, Udaipur will dazzle you with its shimmering lake, abundance of palaces, lush gardens, and stunning temples.
After two days in Udaipur, fly to Jodhpur on your eighth day (or take an overnight bus on your seventh night). Spend a day seeing Jodhpur’s magnificent Mehrangarh Fort, the stunning white Jaswant Thada, the Art Deco city palace, and the clock tower market.
On your eighth night, take an overnight train (there are no flights) to Jaisalmer, a golden sandstone city deep in the Thar Desert. Spend a day in Jaisalmer visiting the fort, and the city. On your tenth day do an overnight camel safari in the orange desert dunes.
On your eleventh day take a train back to Jodhpur and spend a night there before flying back to Delhi for your final days in India.
