Differences between Northern and Southern India

Udaipur

There are a number of differences between Northern and Southern India.

For the visitor, the main differences between these parts of India have to do with climate and weather.

The difference between Northern and Southern India in the climactic sense is great.

While Northern India tends to be cooler throughout the year and can be covered in snow in the far north and the Himalayas, Southern India tends to be much warmer.

During the monsoon season in India, Southern India is best avoided, as the extreme heat makes visiting India very uncomfortable during that time.

Keep in mind that the differences between Northern and Southern India are generalizations.

Each region of India has its own distinct climate, identity, and culture.

It is worth visiting a number of different regions of India to get a better idea of the variations.
